DHCP Starvation

DHCP servers maintain a finite pool of IP addresses. An attacker repeatedly sends DHCP Discover messages with spoofed or randomized MAC addresses, causing the server to allocate all available leases to fake clients. When legitimate hosts join the network, the pool is exhausted and they receive no IP address - a denial of service.
